  3. FUCKING ROBBED OF THE OLIVIER TBQH
...I don't agree. I love her, but Billie Piper had all the momentum going in, and if Jackson and Jones couldn't take her down then Elizabeth certainly couldn't either.

  5. Changing faces: No longer will Dorothy Wadham be the sole woman who looks out from the wall of Wadham's early seventeenth century dining hall.

Warden Ken Macdonald QC has led this project to showcase a more balanced selection of images of Wadham's alumni and fellows across the College site: "We felt it was time to portray some of Wadham's most distinguished women in Hall, alongside those grand figures from Wadham's past that have graced our walls for so long. These extraordinary new portraits will provide our students with inspirational images to reflect more fully our College in this new century."

Photographer Michael Birt was commissioned to photograph the subjects who were chosen following nominations from staff, students and alumni.
Elizabeth Gower-Alton, actor (2000, Classics): I am very proud to have gone to Wadham, and of the friends I met there and of what they have all done since. We got an extraordinary amount of attention and also incredible freedom – Oxford without the stuffiness. There was quite a liberal, progressive attitude that I am in retrospect even more amazed that we had, and which I've seen continue when I speak to current or prospective students now. I may have been studying what is very far in the past but I was nonetheless instilled with a sense of being a citizen of a modern, changing world, and how to move that world forward myself.

  9. the pics of elizabeth at that war memorial dedication are so lame, we can't even tell what she's wearing???
We collaborated with our friends over at WhatKateWore to try and pinpoint Elizabeth's outfit at the dedication of the Gulf War Memorial on 9 March; it appears she was wearing an Alexander McQueen peplum tweet jacket and pencil skirt (seen here), Gianvito Rossi 'Ellipsis' pumps (in a dark red suede), a matching dark red hat by Rachel Trevor Morgan (similar in black here), and a clutch by Mon Purse (see here). Her earrings appear to be these from William & Son. It was also the first time we got to see her wearing her CBE badge in public! If you were curious, they also noticed that her mother was wearing a beautiful dress by Catherine Walker and pillbox hat by Jane Taylor (and, of course, her own CBE badge), while her sister-in-law wore a navy wrap coat by Reiss and fedora by Rosie Olivia Millinery.

For those asking/criticizing why she attended; Elizabeth's father is a veteran of the Gulf War. The lack of good photographs of her and her family (she attended with her parents, brother and sister-in-law) to me clearly indicate attendance out of respect and deference to those being honored, not to look a certain way or make a political statement one way or another.
