wobblybike asks:
You possess a huge screen presence, and I can imagine you would have been a naturally charismatic actor in silent films in its golden age. Do you think you would have pursued a film career in acting in those days?
Christopher Darlington asks:
I love that everyone from Love Actually is reuniting for Red Nose Day. Were you excited when you heard about it or did you need convincing?
No convincing whatsoever! I was an easy yes, probably too easy. We're shooting tonight!
Quenton Steele asks:
Do you think that your somewhat striking looks, allied to some intense roles (particularly in Gone Girl), have narrowed possibilities for you?
Not at all, though I think it helps that I've got some comedy on my CV so there's real evidence that I'll give as much intensity and abandon to somebody like Amy as I will to Helen in Bridesmaids. Showing commitment like that is never a bad thing, in my experience, even if it seems like it could be pigeonholing.
Liam Quane asks:
What is the best thing a director can do for you on set?
Give the gift of time. I learned that from Fincher. There's no quicker way to freak out an actor than to say 'we must get it in this take,' so giving breathing room is paramount.
Splashdown1995 asks:
Do you think you’ll ever want to return to Constellations (beautiful play), or work with Nick Payne again? Because I would be buying my tickets as soon as they hit the web. Break a leg for Hedda!
I hadn't wanted to until I started working with Rafe Spall, who did the West End version. He and I have joked about doing it as a one-off, though I think it probably deserves more time and attention than that.
montyburns56 asks:
Are you going to apologise for doing the Star Wars prequels?
Ha! No bloody way. I'm a big geek who got to be in a Star Wars film, I wouldn't give that up.
Do you wish The Woman had been back in this series of Sherlock, especially if it ends up being the last?
I have no influence over any of that, but they know I'll come back and do Irene any time if it's in good service to the story. If there's not a part for her to play, that's okay with me too.

TheShiftyShadow asks:
Do you prefer building sandcastles or snowmen?
Snowmen! I'm actually in a film called The Snowman coming out in the autumn, shameless plug.

newpassword asks:
Would you prefer to be attacked by 100 duck-sized horses or one horse-sized duck?
One horse-sized duck. You could focus your attention on taming it.

I hope to work with Henry Dessner again – some people you have great chemistry with
chrisdix15 asks:
Any chance of working with Henry Dessner again?
I hope so. Some people you just have great chemistry with, and it works and translates on screen, and there's no point in questioning it, you just have to embrace it. Although I'd actually like to be directed by him even more than I want to act with him again.
I hope so! I love silent films, and I love the old black and white films as well. It was a really different industry then, and I hope I'd've had the chutzpah to do it if I were living in that time.
