Not at all, though I think it helps that I've got some comedy on my CV so there's real evidence that I'll give as much intensity and abandon to somebody like Amy as I will to Helen in Bridesmaids. Showing commitment like that is never a bad thing, in my experience, even if it seems like it could be pigeonholing.

Give the gift of time. I learned that from Fincher. There's no quicker way to freak out an actor than to say 'we must get it in this take,' so giving breathing room is paramount.

I hadn't wanted to until I started working with Rafe Spall, who did the West End version. He and I have joked about doing it as a one-off, though I think it probably deserves more time and attention than that.

I have no influence over any of that, but they know I'll come back and do Irene any time if it's in good service to the story. If there's not a part for her to play, that's okay with me too.

I hope so. Some people you just have great chemistry with, and it works and translates on screen, and there's no point in questioning it, you just have to embrace it. Although I'd actually like to be directed by him even more than I want to act with him again.
I hope so! I love silent films, and I love the old black and white films as well. It was a really different industry then, and I hope I'd've had the chutzpah to do it if I were living in that time.
